Silvia Nicholson is a native of New York City who started formal piano lessons at the age of four at DePaul University’s Community Music School. Currently, she studies with Genya Paley at the Special Music School at Kaufman Music Center in New York. In 2018 and 2019, Silvia was selected as a gold medalist at the AADGT Passion of Music Festival at Carnegie Hall and made her orchestral debut in 2019 with the Music Fest Perugia orchestra. Silvia has participated in the Chicago Suzuki Festival, the DePaul Community Music School’s Contemporary Music Festival, the Kaufman Music Center’s Composer Fest and the Kaufman Music Center’s Chamber Music Festival. Silvia is a member of the Vox Nova Girl’s Chorus and also plays Brazilian music, jazz, and Irish music on the accordion, both as a soloist and ensemble player. Her hobbies include reading, writing, bird watching and soccer.
