SooJung Kim is praised by Eumyoun music magazine as a pianist with “richly varied sound, a lively interpretation and a compelling performance.” She has completed her Bachelors, Master of Music and Graduate Performance Diploma at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University under Yong Hi Moon. SooJung won first prize and the Best Performance of a Ballade Award by Li-ly Chang at the 2016 International Young Artist Piano Competition and was a finalist at the Seattle International Piano Competition. She is also a winner of the Korea Music Association Competition, Korea Times Competition and a laureate of Seoul Competition. Soojung has appeared as a soloist, collaborative artist and chamber musician in North America, Asia and abroad at Steinway Hall, Ward Recital Hall, Miriam A. Friedberg Concert Hall, LeClerc Hall and Korea Times Arts Center. She currently resides in Ellicott City, Maryland, where she is pursuing doctoral studies in Piano Performance with a Graduate assistantship at the University of Maryland under the guidance of Dr. Mayron Tsong.
