Karen Ferry is a nineteen year old from Corinne, Utah and began her violin studies at the age of 3. She currently studies with Jan Sloman and Stephen Rose at the Cleveland Institute of Music as a violin performance major and Suzuki pedagogy minor. Karen made her solo orchestral debut at age 7 with Utah Philharmonic in 2014 and has also soloed with the Utah Symphony numerous times. She was the first prize winner of the MTNA Performance Competition and Southwest Junior Strings Division in Santa Barbara and a third prize winner in the Stradivarius International Violin Competition Utah Division. In addition to music, Karen also enjoys running, singing, tap dancing, doing yoga, and visiting her home in Corinne, Utah on her family-owned and operated farm and cattle ranch.
