Leslie Ashworth, described by Toronto Concert Reviews as “a mature artist and a budding superstar”, is a Canadian violinist who has performed in France, Italy, Canada, and the United States. A Tim and Frances Price Scholarship recipient, she received her Bachelor of Music Performance from The Glenn Gould School under Barry Shiffman and Paul Kantor, and she is currently pursuing her Masters of Music on the John Tsung-Chen Chao Scholarship at Rice University. Ashworth has participated in renowned music festivals including Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute, Boris Brott Music Festival’s National Academy Orchestra, The Banff Centre’s Strings Masterclass Program, Aspen Music Festival, Toronto Summer Music Festival, and the New York String Orchestra Seminar. In addition to her violin studies, Ashworth is a pianist, violist, and composer. She achieved her ARCT Violin, Viola, and Piano Performance, earning the Royal Conservatory’s National Gold Medal for ARCT Viola. Ashworth plays on a 1696 Albani violin on loan from a generous benefactor.
