Alyssa Warcup, age 20, is a native of the Chicago area and began studying viola at the age of twelve. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree with minors in Eurhythmics and German from the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Jeffrey Irvine, and taking orchestral repertoire with Lynne Ramsey and Stanley Konopka. Alyssa is an avid chamber musician and she is an alumna of the Fontainebleau Schools, National Arts Centre Young Artists Program, Heifetz International Music Institute, and National YoungArts Foundation. As an orchestral player, she performed with the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra as principal and with the New York String Orchestra. Alyssa is passionate about outreach, having performed with the Cleveland chapter of Music For Food and alongside many ensembles for concerts in hospitals, nursing homes, libraries, and museums. She was a featured soloist at the annual conference held in Milwaukee for the National Federation of Music Clubs as the national winner of their Wendell Irish Viola Award. Alyssa plays on a viola made in 2012 by Christopher Germain.
