Maxwell Schultz is a 19-year-old cellist from LaGrange Park, Illinois, and currently studies with Dmitry Kouzov at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He won the 2019 Lyons Township Concerto Competition, and served as principal cellist in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Concert, Philharmonic, and Symphony orchestras. He has played in masterclasses for John Sharp, Kathy Lehr, Alan Tinkham, and Terrance Malone Grey. Maxwell enjoys improvising and composing, and won honorable mention at the 2019 ILMEA Composition Competition.
