MISHA AMORY

The winner of the 1991 Naumburg Viola Competition, Misha Amory has appeared throughout the U.S. and in Europe as a recitalist and chamber musician. He was born in Boston, Mass., and has appeared at the Four Seasons, Marlboro, Tanglewood, Chamber Music Northwest, Seattle, Newport, and El Paso festivals. He was a founding member of the Brentano String Quartet and has taught viola at the State University of New York–Stony Brook and was a visiting resident at San Francisco Conservatory.

Amory holds a BA from Yale University and an MM from Juilliard and has studied with Heidi Castleman, Caroline Levine, and Samuel Rhodes. Misha Amory serves on the faculties of Juilliard School, Curtis Insitute of Music and Yale School of Music.
