Vivace Matera International Music Festival was set to make its debut in July 2020 in the stunningly beautiful and majestic city of Matera, Italy. The festival featured an outstanding international faculty and the unique opportunity for EVERY participant to perform a concerto movement with a live orchestra. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival’s in-person debut has been postponed to July 2021.

Despite the obvious challenges, social distancing measures can’t stop our commitment to connecting artists and audiences, and to creating an exceptional study program for the next generation of world-class musicians. Through this mission, we very proudly introduce Vivac-e, an international on-line music festival. We’ll present daily master classes and thrilling concerts, lectures and discussions on a variety of topics – from exploring the performer’s role in late Beethoven, to improvising in classical music; from q and a with first prize winners of the Cliburn and Leeds, to artist-curated group listening of the world’s most iconic music and musicians – there is something for everyone.

The Vivac-e team shares a responsibility to spread great music throughout the world. We take our role even more seriously during the current pandemic. We hope you’ll join us on our e-journey – as a participant engaged in intense study or as an auditor watching and listening to our amazing faculty perform, teach and discuss.
