Nathaniel Yue is a 13-year-old cellist from Los Angeles, California, and currently attends Colburn Community School of Performing Arts with Vardan Gasparyan. This March 2020, he was selected to participate in the Piatigorsky International Cello Festival Young Cellist Workshop and Mass Cello Ensemble to close the festival at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Nathaniel played in masterclasses for Dennis Karmazyn, Ralph Kirschbaum, and Sheku Kanneh-Mason, and attended Meadowmount School of Music. He plays a 1764 Matthias Lichtl cello on loan from Georg Eittinger of Hans Weisshaar Violin Makers. Nathaniel, and his dog, were the winners of our very first Vivace Challenge.
